Money can't buy you happiness, but it helps you look for it in a lot more places. For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver. If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace. Too many people spend money they haven't earned to buy things they don't want to impress people they don't like. Money has never made man happy, nor will it, there is nothing in its nature to produce happiness. The more of it one has the more one wants. It is the preoccupation with possessions, more than anything else, that prevents us from living freely and nobly. As the purse is emptied the heart is filled. Don't go broke trying to impress broke people. We work jobs we hate, to buy things we don't need, to impress people we don't like.
