If you want your children to turn out well, spend twice as much time with them, and half as much money. Those who educate children well are more to be honored than they who produce them; for these only gave them life, those the art of living well. When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life. How is it that little children are so intelligent and men so stupid? It must be education that does it. Christmas means a great deal to me. I was reared in a family that celebrated Christmas to some extent, but I married into a family that celebrated Christmas in a big way. And my wife always made a big thing of Christmas for the children. We have five children, and we had a terrific time at Christmas. Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed. Every mother's child is handsome. The law of love could be best understood and learned through little children. The best time to give advice to your children is while they're still young enough to believe you know what you're talking about. The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children.
