One of the secrets of a long and fruitful life is to forgive everybody everything everynight before you go to bed. Humanity is never so beautiful as when praying for forgiveness, or else forgiving another. Forgiveness means giving up all hope for a better past. Keep memories of insult on a short leash, and memories of blessing on a long one. To err is human; to forgive, divine. The only vice that cannot be forgiven is hypocrisy.
