Some people feel guilty about their anxieties and regard them as a defect of faith but they are afflictions, not sins. Like all afflictions, they are, if we can so take them, our share in the passion of Christ. If you can't sleep, then get up and do something instead of lying there worrying. It's the worry that gets you, not the lack of sleep. Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength. The fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. Worry gives a small thing a big shadow. If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present.
