There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind. Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go to move forward. You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending. We are products of our past, but we don’t have to be prisoners of it. Forgiveness means giving up all hope for a better past. Look at life through the windshield, not the rear-view mirror. Everything will change when your desire to move on exceeds your desire to hold. To grow, you must be willing to let your present and future be totally unlike your past. Your history is not your destiny. It's ok to be not ready to move on. Healing takes time.
