It is hard to have patience with people who say 'There is no death' or 'Death doesn't matter'. There is death. And whatever is matters. And whatever happens has consequences, and it and they are irrevocable and irreversible. You might as well say that birth doesn't matter. Age changes the hair, but not always the mind. Age does not always help against foolishness. Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old. I'm not young enough to know everything. Old crows are hard to catch. Forty is the old age of youth; fifty the youth of old age. The best time to give advice to your children is while they're still young enough to believe you know what you're talking about. The reason why respect is paid to age is that old people have necessarily shown in the course of their lives whether or not they have been able to maintain their honor unblemished; while that of young people has not been put to the proof, though they are credited with the possession of it. 20 years from now, you'd give anything to be: this exact age, this healthy, back in this exact moment. Take a second to enjoy it now.
